MicroPeel Questions

The first step takes around 5 minutes and involves the gentle removal of dead skin cells through a painless technique called dermaplaning, which is similar to shaving (any areas with facial hair are skipped). This frees the skin of dead cellular layers that dull the skin and clog the pores. This part of the treatment is very similar to microdermabrasion.

The second step includes the application of a very light chemical to exfoliate and deep-cleanse the skin. This part of the treatment will tighten pores, fade brownish spots and give the skin better tone and texture. Even though a light chemical is applied, this is not a “chemical peel” and there is no visible peeling after the treatment.

MicroPeel Plus is similar to the regular MicroPeel with the exception of using a slightly stronger chemical. It is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin.

You may experience mild, temporary burning and itching. This is temporary and is typically gone by the time you leave the office.

Performing a MicroPeel usually takes approximately 30 minutes and there is no downtime associated with the treatment. 

The MicroPeel treatment can be performed just once to freshen-up the skin or it can be performed in a series of two to four treatments to really get your skin looking clean, healthy and youthful. Optimal results are seen with routine sessions.
